Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-by World
Getting Ahead is a 15 to 20 week workshop series built on the Bridges Out of Poverty framework. Participants — called investigators — work together in cohorts facilitated by SWFL Regional Coalition staff to explore the causes of poverty, assess their own resources, and build concrete plans to create stability and self-sufficiency.
Format
Small group cohorts meeting weekly with a trained SWFL Regional Coalition facilitator. Investigators support and learn from each other throughout the program.
Duration
15 to 20 weeks per cohort. Each session builds on the last, culminating in a personal stability plan participants author for themselves.
Framework
Based on the nationally recognized Bridges Out of Poverty model, which examines poverty through the lens of resources — financial, emotional, social, and more.
Outcome
Participants leave with a deeper understanding of how economic systems work, practical tools for navigating them, and a personal plan for building long-term stability.

HMIS Administration
The SWFL Regional Coalition to End Homelessness administers the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) for Collier County. HMIS is the federally mandated data platform that tracks service use, client outcomes, and system performance across all Continuum of Care partner organizations.
Tracks every client served across the Collier County CoC, from first contact through housing placement and beyond.
Supports federal reporting requirements for HUD CoC grants and ensures accountability across the system.
Provides the data infrastructure for the annual Point in Time Count and ongoing system performance measurement.
Used by partner agencies across Collier County to coordinate services, reduce duplication, and measure outcomes.
